Invitation for Training Class on One Belt and One Road Hyperspectral Remote Sensing and Precision Agriculture

            The “Belt and Road” science and technology training class on Hyperspectral Remote Sensing and Precision Agriculture will be held on November 1-15, 2019, at Sanya, Hainan province, China. The training course, as one of series of science and technology training courses initiated by the Chinese Academy of Sciences for One Belt and One Road and adjacent countries, is sponsored by the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI), Chinese Academy of Sciences. The training theme is “Supporting Precision Agriculture Using Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Technology”. The training aims to help the Agro-informatics scientists and managers from One Belt and One Road and adjacent countries to further understand the real challenges and to master current urgent technologies for modern agriculture, and the ultimate goal is to work together to address global challenges such as climate change and food security by establishing long-term international cooperation with One Belt and One Road and adjacent countries. The training organizing committee warmly welcome interested parties of the countries along the "Belt and Road" to register to participate. The relevant issues of training are now notified as follows:

           I.    Training Time

               Ø  November 1, 2019 arrived in Sanya, Hainan, Registration.

               Ø  Participate in training from the 2nd to the 15th.

               Ø  Departure from Sanya, Hainan, on the 16th.

           II.    Training Location

                Ø  Sanya Park of RADI, CAS.

                Ø  Accommodation: Sanya Park of RADI, CAS.

          III.    Trainees

                Ø  The target of this training is mainly related to agriculture and remote sensing research & management personnel in countries along the “Belt and Road”.

                Ø  To achieve training results, the scale of training will be limited to no more than 20 persons.

          IV.   Training Content

                 Ø  Professional Basic Courses: Introduce remote sensing technology and its applications in agriculture, hyperspectral remote sensing principle and progress, and agriculture remote sensing basic knowledge, etc.

                 Ø  Professional Courses: Introduces the whole process and analysis for hyperspectral remote sensing (HRS) data, agriculture remote sensing experiment design and set-up, multi-source remotely sensed data fusion technologies, feature extraction and modeling for precision agriculture, crop precision classification and LUCC maping by HRS technologies, crop growth monitoring and yield estimation with HRS, remote sensing theory and method for agriculture typical disasters, and agriculture model and decision system bases remote sensing, etc.

                Ø  Professional Practice Courses: Includes the operation of field imaging spectrometer system (FISS), Pixel Information Expert (PIE) software, Hyperspectral remote sensing data processing and analysis system (Hylab), Multi-dimensional Analysis of Remote Sensing (MARS), etc.

                Ø  Field Experiments and Investigations: Remote sensing experiments for agriculture applications, and visiting agriculture base & labs.

             V.   Training Fees

               This training is a technical service free of registration fee provided by RADI. RADIwill also cover your international airfares, daily meals, local transportation and accommodation in Sanya, Hainan, during your stay in China.
